Northcote is a traditional affluent neighborhood with a plethora of architecturally stunning houses showcasing a mix of retro and modern styles. In this project, Fighomes served as the builder while AWAkitchens was responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of all joinery components. This project presented numerous challenges, both in terms of material selection and hardware assembly, which demanded exceptional expertise and craftsmanship.

Unique Material Selection:
For the primary material, the client opted for Smoked Oak Crown Cut Timber Veneer. This choice beautifully captures the natural randomness and texture of the wood grain. AWAkitchens dedicated significant effort to the craftsmanship of the door panels, meticulously sanding and applying two coats of food-grade OSMO top oil to achieve the distinct sheen and texture unique to wood. To complement the client's preference for an industrial style, we selected stainless steel panels for the kitchen work area. This material not only offers visual appeal but also plays a pivotal role in defining the overall aesthetics of the property.

Carefully Chosen Hardware:
In terms of hardware, we chose the bi-fold pocket door system from Hawa. This remarkable hardware solution offers broad coverage while providing the convenience of easily concealing the door panels with a simple pull and push action.
